Trauma Informed Yoga

  • Trauma informed yoga is an approach and opportunity to build connection, focus, and awareness in the body. This autonomous and mind body practice cultivates empowerment and a more adaptive relationship with one’s body.

This class encourages self-trust and allows yourself to be the true guider in your own practice. This approach allows each member to individualize their practice and honor their emotional and body sensations while allowing reinforcement of connection and choice which further strengthens and restores a sense of self and connections to one’s body which is often compromised through traumatic experiences.

This class will offer various mindfulness tools, breathe work, yoga positions and connection of one’s mind and body to create and enhance one’s somatic healing journey.

  • Each class will look a little different depending on what the group needs. However, the same principles and teachings will guide each session.

There will be two sessions offered every other Saturday. Each session will be 60 minutes long.

Participants will always guide their own practice, listen to their own body and needs during the class.
